Hi, I'm John 'Jonty' Cheshire, the lead photographer behind JONTY photography. With a background in mechanical engineering and over 20 years of commercial creative experience, I bring a unique combination of technical precision and artistic vision to every project.
Since 2014, JONTY photography has been Singapore's trusted choice for corporate headshots, event photography, and architectural documentation. We work primarily with corporate SMEs and have had the privilege of photographing teams at companies including Amazon, DHL, and Microsoft.
Experience & Expertise
Over the years, I've developed a deep understanding of what makes professional photography work for business. My engineering background (B.Eng and M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Liverpool) influences my approach - I'm meticulous about technical details like lighting, colour calibration, and equipment setup.
But technical skill is only part of the equation. What truly matters is helping people feel comfortable in front of the camera and capturing images that show them at their best. Whether it's a single executive headshot or a team of 50, the goal is always the same: professional, authentic images that serve your business needs.
Our Approach
Every photography session is a collaboration. We start with a consultation to understand your needs, timeline, and how the images will be used. During the shoot, we use professional equipment with backup systems, shoot tethered to colour-calibrated monitors for instant review, and provide direction to help everyone look their best.
The technical foundation is critical - proper lighting, professional equipment, and attention to detail - but so is creating a relaxed, professional atmosphere. Our clients consistently mention feeling comfortable during sessions, which translates directly into better photos.
We're not rushing through sessions to maximize volume. We're focused on quality, consistency, and delivering images you'll be proud to use for years.
